Welcome to The School of Applied Studies
The School of Applied Studies is a modern and dynamic education institute. We believe in nurturing the holistic development of our students. On top of ensuring academic rigour, we have also structured our academic courses to integrate current industry knowledge and practices so that our students stay relevant and maintain an edge in today's fast-paced and competitive economy.
In our bid for continuous learning and delivery of quality education, SAS sought the help of École hôtelière de Lausanne (EHL) and signed an academic consultation agreement with them in November 2009. Lausanne Hospitality Consulting (LHC), a subsidiary of EHL, designed and developed the SAS Diploma and Advanced Diploma in Hospitality Management curriculum and introduced the philosophy of the art and science of Hospitality Management. LHC also engaged SAS Academic and Management Team on an extensive Knowledge Transfer Programme through its Qualified Learning Facilitator Series conducted both in Singapore and Switzerland. This programme emphasises on the balance required between pedagogy, andragogy and epistemology in the learning environment.
At SAS, we believe the only way to produce great students is to have good lecturers that are able to motivate, mentor and engage students to bring out the best in them. The importance of an ideal learning environment emphasises on the integration between training and education. As such, SAS’s curriculum focus on the Knowledge, Competencies and Mindset gained by students throughout the learning process in our school. We have a diverse pool of over 30 lecturers, full-time and part-time associates, and maintain a student-lecturer ratio of 25:1 to ensure optimal delivery of classes.
So come, join us at the School of Applied Studies and I am confident that you will find your study experience with us to be a remarkable one!
